SIPL PIGMENT CORRECTION

Uneven pigmentation is often the result of sun damage and hormonal changes.

Melanin is the substance in skin that gives it colour.  Freckles and pigment spotting occur when a lot of melanin clumps together in a small area.

Melanin is one of the substances targeted by SIPL, the same as with Hair Removal.  In this case however, SIPL is attracted to superficial melanin on and near the surface of the skin.  That light converts to heat and at first, will darken the treated area.

For pigmentation caused by sun damage, treatments work best on people who no longer expose themselves to excessive UV light, eg the sun or solariums.  Resumption of UV exposure will see the capillaries return.

In the case of hormonal skin damage, treatments work best when the underlying hormonal issue has run its course.
